DESCRIPTION:LunarFest invites Markham’s diverse community to celebrate the Lunar New Year like no other! \nLunarFest was designed to be a festival that celebrates one of the oldest traditions for many Asian cultures – Lunar New Year – LunarFest aims to collaborate with many Asian communities and outreaches to other Canadians.\nCelebrate the Year of the Rabit like no other! \nJoin us online for fun activities\, including arts and crafts\, animal conservation knowledge\, and the return of the Lunar Lanterns of Indigenous Lights. \nThe Lunar Lanterns of Indigenous Lights at the Varley Art Gallery courtyard are LunarFest’s way of making connections between the Indigenous cultures of Canada and the biggest tradition in Asian cultures\, the Lunar New Year. Participants in this session will learn some tips around promoting early literacy skills\, how to download and use the Beanstack app to track their reading and at the end of the session leave with a beautiful Badge Book to help your child form a great reading habit. \nTo ensure as many members of our community receives a badge book\, giveaways will be limited to 1 per child.  \n
