SUMMARY:South Markham Quick Action Grants - Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in leading a project to support mental health & mental being or housing stability in South-Central Markham? \nIn 2019\, York Region Council approved a place-based approach to developing York Region’s Community Safety & Well-Being (CSWB) Plan and authorized a process to identify geographic areas of focus. United Way Greater Toronto (UWGT) has partnered with York Region\, Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) and Social Services Network (SSN) to support a place-based Community Action Table (CAT) in South-Central Markham to help deliver on the CSWB plan. In South Markham\, the local priorities identified were:\nMental Health & Mental Well-being\nHousing Stability \nAs part of this work\, UWGT has provided Agincourt Community Services Association with fifteen-thousand dollars ($15\,000) to support local neighbourhoods to explore and initiate new actions in parallel with the work and priorities of the Community Action Table. \nResidents\, agencies and grassroots organizations from South Markham are encouraged to apply in order to address the local priorities.
